The Wade Hampton High School Generals kick off the 2025 season against fellow Greenville County opponent Travelers Rest at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2025 at Wade Hampton High School Stadium in Greenville, S.C.
The Generals went 0-9 last season. TR clipped Wade Hampton, 14-7, in last season’s opener for both teams.
Another northern Greenville County opponent, Blue Ridge, comes in for its season opener the following week. The Generals lost to the Tigers last season in another close one, 21-14.

Wade Hampton competes in Region 2-AAAAA, which is primarily made up of schools along the US-29 corridor from downtown Greenville, S.C. near where the school is located, through Spartanburg County and into Cherokee County, home of Gaffney High School.

Wade Hampton’s 1968 team is considered the best in program history as the Generals went 10-1 and lost in the state championship game. The school opened its doors in 1960.
